Calle Falksten Neil Hannons distinguised folkier uncle ? This is a very lovable album full of chamberpop folk tunes that fans of the aformentioned Neil will lap up or perhaps even followers of Richard Hawley and Kevin Ayers will enjoy. Favorite track: New Swedish Fiction.

about

Peace Signs is led by Keiron Phelan, best known as co-founder, alongside Brian Eno biographer David Sheppard, of cult millennial post rockers State River Widening, for the bright Chagall pop of Anglo-Japanese outfit Smile Down Upon Us and the Debussy infused neo-classicisms of littlebow.

Peace Signs is a band, of sorts. A serendipitous collection of sympathetic talents featuring (among many) lavish contributions from rising kosmisch-folk star Brona McVittie and musical polymath Oliver Cherer (Dollboy, Gilroy Mere, The Assistant), powered by Papernut Cambridge main-man Ian Button and indie doyen producer Giles Barrett.

Songs about hippie girlfriends (Peace Signs), hippy priests (Hippy Priest) scandi-noir heroines (New Swedish Fiction), Japanese satellites (Satellite Hitori), Geoffry Chaucer (Canterbury), jealousy (Ain't She Grown?) and Jesus (My Children Just The Same).

A Slapp Happy and Hunky Dory kind of platter; Phelan vocalising like a non-dozy Kevin Ayers with hints of both Bolanesque willfulness and Bill Fay sincerity. Imagine a confrontational Neil Hannon fronting the Incredible String Band and you're on the right protest march. Peace out'.

Limited edition CD, each in a uniquely hand printed and stickered arigato pack.
